Read and create QR codes with iPad and iPhone

Image 1. Click to open in original size.

With the Shortcuts app it's very easy to make a QR encoder/decoder in iOS.

Why would you want to decode or encode QR codes? You can read the information embedded in all the QR codes you see around you and you can make QR codes out of information you want to share. Your website, email or postal address, phone numbers, Wi-Fi passwords, commercial messages, Quiz walk questions, poems or almost any not too long text.

If you think a QR code shortcut could be useful, download it below.

» Get the QR to/from text shortcut

Download the free Shortcuts app from App Store if you haven't already.

I had to use a QR scanner for something a while ago, but the exact reason escapes me. I always saw it as a handy tool for companies to store and give information to customers, so more can only be a good thing.

The reading part is easy if you have an iOS device. Just point the camera at it. 🙂
