Unsplash - free high quality photos

Image 1. Click to open in original size.

Unsplash is a website specialising in free to use, user submitted, photos of high quality. There are a couple of good iPad apps to find and download photos.

If you are a member of Unsplash and want to log in when you use it, UrWall is a good choice.

If you do not want to log in Splasher is another good choice.

Both of these apps contain ads. I haven’t found a way to pay to get rid of them.

Here is an excerpt of the Unsplash license terms:

More precisely, Unsplash grants you an irrevocable, nonexclusive copyright license to download, copy, modify, distribute, perform, and use photos from Unsplash for free, including for commercial purposes, without permission from or attributing the photographer or Unsplash. This license does not include the right to compile photos from Unsplash to replicate a similar or competing service.

Have you found another, perhaps better, Unsplash app? Or one where you can pay to get rid of ads? Comment below.

A user pointed out a detail of the Unsplash Terms & Conditions https://unsplash.com/terms worth noting:

Note that the Unsplash License does not include the right to use:

A. Trademarks, logos, or brands that appear in Photos

B. People’s images if they are recognizable in the Photos

So, if you use photos with logos or identifiable people in them, you may want to blur those parts, unless you get permission.

"B. People’s images if they are recognizable in the Photos"

Does that mean their faces etc?

Okay, thank you. That's good to know because I haven't thought of it before.
