AnyFont - add more fonts to your iPad or iPhone

Image 1. Click to open in original size.

If you feel limited with the pre-installed system fonts in iPad, there is help to get. You can easily install many more typefaces that will be available in apps like Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

AnyFont doesn't look like much when you open the app. It has three tabs. One for fonts you already have but haven't got on your iPad, one for bundled fonts and one for already installed fonts.

There are over 1000 bundled fonts to choose from. All you have to do is tap the font you want to install, tap the icon in the middle of the pop-up that opens and follow the instructions. To unlock the bundled fonts you buy them all with a 1 USD in-app purchase.

To install your own fonts you can send them to yourself in an email and choose to open the font file in AnyFont. It will then show up in the Install own fonts tab. After that you just install them like you do with the bundled fonts. The app can handle TrueTypeFont (.ttf), OpenTypeFont (.otf) and TrueType Collection (.ttc).

The AnyFont app itself cost 2 USD in the App Store.

Now there's another app for installing fonts in iOS. It's called xFonts. It's a free app but it doesn't come with bundled fonts, like AnyFont.

xFonts installs new fonts on your iPad and iPhone
