Resilio Sync - syncs all files between all devices

Image 1. Click to open in original size.

One key for me to work efficiently is to be able to sync files between iPads, iPhones and computers, both mine and my colleagues and clients. Resilio Sync (formerly BitTorrent Sync) makes it fast, secure and easy.

Resilio Sync has clients for Windows, macOS, Linux, FreeBSD, iOS, Android, Amazon and more. This means you can sync files with anyone anywhere.

It is built on BitTorrent peer-to-peer technology, which means that there is no cloud or server through which files are transported (like with Dropbox, iCloud Drive or OneDrive). Files are sent directly between the connected devices and connections are encrypted. This makes sync fast. Another thing that speeds up transfers is that the BitTorrent protocol can sync between several devices simultaneously. If a file is located on two devices, and a third one connects, the new device will have parts of the files sent from both the other clients. It also works great on very big files. Film studios use it for syncing work all over the world because it is so fast, safe and easy to use.

I use Sync for syncing photos from iPhone and iPad to my Mac mini server, for syncing company documents between me and my colleagues, for syncing photos from me to clients and for syncing all my documents and photos between all my devices (an iPhone, two iPads, two Macs). I also use it for backing up of my family's devices to a server.

Setting up syncs is easy. It is done scanning QR codes (for mobile devices) or sharing links.

Sync is free for private use. For extra features there is a pay version for 40 USD (one time fee). For workgroups there are paid plans starting at 19 USD per month.

What is your setup for syncing files between devices and places? Comment below!
